North Carolina Statistics
The North Carolina Council for Women & Youth Involvement compiles semi-annual data from all domestic violence and sexual assault services utilized by the more than 10 million people residing in North Carolina. This data comprises the state’s primary source for county-level statistics that describe how many people seek services, and what services they receive.
- 101,940 phone calls came in to domestic and sexual abuse service providers.
- 48,601 clients were seen in-person for services (Of these, around 40,000 identified as female and 8,000 identified as male).
- Specific services provided to the general population by these agencies included counseling for 51,928 people and court assistance for 44,632 people.
The North Carolinians who accessed these programs are not just statistics. Each individual receiving assistance from these organizations is a person with a unique story and specific needs. eNOugh NC is proud to support these organizations in their efforts to provide trauma-informed and individually tailored services in communities across the state.
